Donations, Fundraising & Funding Help

LDSSG are completely financed through the generosity and fundraising efforts of our supporters.

Just Giving

You can raise monies for the group via Just Giving.

Our  page is live and available for donations and fundraising events and can be found by clicking on the link below:

Due to the way that Just Giving accounts are set up we dont receive reporting when funds are received…unless we pay a monthly fee. We are sure you will agree monies raised are better spent on our members rather than in admin fees!

If you send any monies via Just Giving, please drop the committee a message to let us know what you’ve raised and how you did it so we can say thank you. Messages can be sent via our contact us page.

Bank transfers

If you prefer not to use Just Giving, you can send donations to our online bank account. If you wish to do so please send our treasurer a message via our contact us page, using the heading “donation requiring bank details

Payment at a bank

You can drop cash into your local Barclays Bank. If you wish to do so please send our treasurer a message via our contact us page, using the heading “Barclays bank details – donation

Cash or cheques

We know that sometime people prefer not to use online banking facilities, or dont have the time to take the cash into a bank. In that case message us  via our contact us page, using the heading “cash donation” and our committee will work out the best way to arrange a handover.

How do we use the funds raised?

The money raised by the group is used in a variety of ways.

Those that have attended our numerous (non-fundraising) functions will know these are put on free for our members…your generosity makes this possible.

From time to time we will bring in external trainers and put on Makaton sign language courses.

Some of our members have asked for support with essential equipment (specialist bikes, and car seats).

Others have benefited with assistance towards the costs of specialist swimming and horse riding lessons.
We can also help towards the costs of essential clothing (support footwear) and hygiene related products that are not available on the NHS.

Can you help me with a request for help towards funding?

There is no limit to the number of requests that the committee will consider on a case by case basis, so if you would like some assistance then please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact us form using the subject heading “funding request”!
