The Lincoln City DS team travelled down to Northampton on Saturday to play a match against the Northampton Town DS team.
We were narrowly beaten in a close match 8 – 6.
Northampton DS then treated the team to a trip to see Northampton Town play their last game of the season against Oxford. There was a great atmosphere and it was enjoyed by all.
We are in touch with QPR DS at the moment and hope to travel down to play them next month.
There is then, of course, a trophy to defend at the National DS Tournament later in June!
If you would like more details on how to get involved with the Lincoln City DS Active team please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Lincoln City DSActive football team has received a generous donation from Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group to help purchase training kits for team members. The donation has enabled each player to receive a full tracksuit, shorts, t-shirt, socks and rain jacket.
The club was formed in February last year and, in April, five of our players travelled to West Bromwich Albion to participate in the Premier League’s Down Syndrome Festival. Our five team members joined forces with two other players to form the DSActive Allstars, and together managed to finish top of their division.
This year we now have a full team of our own and we’re eager to continue the success enjoyed at last year’s festival. As we look to arrange some friendly fixtures and take part in more festivals, we are extremely thankfully to Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group who, with their kind donation, has helped make us look a smart and professional team. Our players are delighted to have their own kits, complete with Lincoln City FC badges, and wear them with pride to each training session.
Our training sessions are open to males and females from the age of 5years upwards and are held on Saturday mornings between 11am-12pm.
The session is divided into two groups, one for 5-12years and the other for 13+.
If you are interested in coming along or would like any further information please contact Dan Burnett on 01522 563792 or email email@example.com
Update – the McThorpe team managed to complete the event within the time limit having a lot of fun along the way.
They managed to raise over £1,300 for LDSSG, which is a fantastic achievement.
It goes without saying that the committee and members of LDSSG are extremely grateful of the teams support and will ensure the funds raised are put to very good use!
On April 30th Mark Woodward, Lee Ash, Dale Woodward and Mark Wingad will be taking part in the Charity Drive ‘Benidorm or Bust’!
They are expected to drive an ‘old banger’ from their home in Caythorpe to Benidorm and back!
They will be dressing up as Ronald McDonald and have had their ‘old banger’ painted in the McDonald’s colours.
You can follow their progress by joining their group page ‘Benidorm McThorpe on Tour’ on Facebook.
They will be raising money for the Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group. So any donation will be very much appreciated.
You can donate to them in person or by Texting BENI14£ and amount to 70070 or via the contact us form.
The next committee meeting is scheduled for:

The next AGM is scheduled for:

We were assisted in this fund raising event by 204 (City of Lincoln) ATC Squadron. This event raised over £580 for our group. As you can see from the attached pictures Tally Hewlett and Ryan Blair ably assisted with collecting funds. As this event was so successful it is hoped that we will be afforded the opportunity partake in future events.
