Live performance at the Showroom, Lincoln on May 31st & June 1st 2019
LDSSG and the Boston Down’s Syndrome Family Group would like to inform all members about the exciting new venture for the Boston Group.
The Boston Down’s Syndrome Family Group has been providing fortnightly support sessions to families with a member with Down’s Syndrome since it’s inception over 2 years ago.
The group has been financially and operationally supported by LDSSG and it has developed into a successful and popular group and therefore the LDSSG proposed that the Boston Group become an independent charity group in its own right. Following much discussion, a decision was made for the Boston Down’s Syndrome Family Group to establish itself as independent from the LDSSG.
From today, the Boston Downs Syndrome Family Group is renaming to the ‘East Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Family Support Group’ and will continue to provide fortnightly sessions for families in the Boston District, South Holland District and East Lindsey District with a loved one with Down’s Syndrome. The group also plans to provide social activities for their members.
LDSSG will continue to welcome all individuals with Down’s Syndrome and their families, regardless of where they live in the county and sincerely hope you all continue to attend events and access our services for support. LDSSG will actively encourage its members to belong to both groups where geographically appropriate and attend any events where you can access support and share your experiences. There is no such thing as too much support and too much fun!
LDSSG would like to congratulate the East Lincolnshire Down’s Syndrome Family Support Group and wish the group every success in all its future endeavours.

Our members were recently invited to a pottery session at the Little Pottery Studio in Lincoln
They were able to choose a piece of ‘bisque’ to paint from the shelves in the beautiful studio setting.
With a vast array of paints, brushes, stencils, stickers and tools to choose from we saw some very unique pieces created.
The team at the studio could not have been more helpful and made sure our members and parents understood the process.
Tally was kind enough to send in a note of thanks to us
Tally you are very welcome!
The centre is set in a peaceful, natural environment with an abundance of wild life, a wooded area and an eco pond.
FEAL specialises in working with people living with dementia, young people using mental health services, people living with brain injuries and or serious illness.
The team at FEAL provide a fun filled and interactive day for our members to enjoy working with the animals in a hands on and calming manner.
Please see some of the feedback from the latest session below:
Caden’s favourites are Billinghay swimming sessions, Rand farm BBQ, Foxdales horses and activities and many more.
We try to attend all for new experiences as well as ones we have previously attended and love.”
“Elsie loves her visits to Foxdales, as it offers her the chance to spend time with her friends from LDSSG in a relaxed setting. Its also important for her to understand the need to care and look after horses, not just ride them. We cant thank Tracy and the team at FEAL enough for the great work they do”
Please see the proposed dates for our upcoming stay & play sessions.
